Mike Szuberla

Michael Szuberla

President

Michael is a native Toledoan who attended school at St Angela Hall (the school that preceded the CAC).  The CAC building has been a part of his life for over thirty years.  His brother is a nationally known filmmaker who lived at the CAC in the mid-nineties.  The CAC was an excellent experience for him.  Michael serves on the CAC board because of his connection to the building, the impact the CAC has on younger people and the quality programs the CAC provides to the broader community.

Professionally Michael is the director of Toledo GROWs (the community gardening outreach program of the Toledo Botanical Garden), which has partnerships with over fifty organizations in the Toledo area.  His extensive networking with the community often helps the CAC connect with community resources and form partnerships. Michael is also the founder of a non-profit 501c3 art and ecology think tank that purchases vacant lots and creates gardens and "art parks".
