RELIEF PRINTING: GRADES 3-12
Printmaking is a media students are often not exposed to until late in high school, if at all, often times due to a lack of a print press. In this workshop students will be taught the methods of printmaking which don't require a press to achieve a finished image. Students will be given instruction on methods of carving a relief block, building collagraph images out of found textures, as well as printing, registering and editioning multiple copies of hand pulled images. Time will also be allotted for safety demonstrations, defining what printmaking is, as well as building a sense of artistic community and teamwork.
